Salford Parent Voice proudly present yet another amazing FREE training opportunity for parents and carers of children and young people with additional needs and disabilities!

On 12th and 19th March 10am till 2pm at St Georges Resource Centre, Salford, SPV are hosting a Personal Behaviour Support two day training session. This course will incorporate the following;

– Exploring what ‘PBS’ is
– Stages of PBS Planning
– Identifying Triggers
– Building in ‘Primary prevention’ Techniques
– Recognising and Building secondary de-escalation techniques
– Reactive Strategies
– Reviewing and amending strategies and approaches

*Lunch will be provided

SPV- March Social-Flyer-A5-4Salford Parent Voice invites you to come and join us on the 31st March 2017 for the first of the Family Night Social Events.

The social is  for Parents and Carers of children and young people with additional needs and disabilities. Its an opportunity to come and meet like minded people, make friends and contacts and have a cracking good time!

Salford Parent Voice proudly present the second of two FREE training opportunities for parents and carers of children and young people with additional needs and disabilities!

This course will take place on both 23rd and 24th March 2017 at;
St Georges Resource Centre
Cromwell Road
Salford
M6 6SB
From 10am till 2pm each day
Lunch is included, so if you are attending and have any specific dietary requirements you will need to  let us know as soon as possible.
The course will cover the following topics;
  • Expression and Understanding Language
  • How photos, pictures and symbols are used to communicate
  • Objects of reference and how to use them
  • Intensive Interaction
  • How signing assists with communication

SPV Coffee and Information Session’s

Salford Parent Voice would like to invite all parents and carers of young disabled children to our ‘SPV Coffee and Information Sessions’.

SPV Coffee and Information Sessions will allow parents and carers to network and share experiences over a nice cuppa and biscuit. Salford Parent Voice will also ensure these sessions are informative by inviting  professionals to attend and provide updates on area’s of interest.

The first confirmed date is Saturday 2nd July at the Beacon Centre, London Street, M6 6QT. Come along between 11am-2pm and see a presentation on the Local Offer. To find out more about the Local Offer please select the following link Salford City Council Local Offer

Salford Parent Voice (SPV)  is gathering views on the Local Offer.

SPV believe the local offer is a vital resource, as it provides information to people with disabilities or additional needs. This information covers many disability related topics and services including Education, Health, Money, Early Years, Transport, Things to do, Preparing for adult life, Education-Health and Care Plans and support and advice.

Salford Parent Voice Annual General Meeting

Salford Parent Voice held its Annual General Meeting on 17th October 2015. The meeting focused on deciding on the organizational structure of the group going forward and plans for promoting the group and increasing parents’ participation.

At the meeting the following people were appointed to the Steering Group:
